Sneaky links
I received an e-mail from admin@facebook.com:
Hi,
Be informed that we have upgraded for new features like webcam chat and more. Log in to the link below to upgrade your Facebook account and enjoy the new Facebook.
Click on the link below. If nothing happens when you click on the link, right click on the link and click "Open":
To upgrade your Facebook account, follow the link below:

Thanks,

People have been repeatedly told not to click on links you have received in an e-mail from someone they do not know personally. Okay, I rickrolled you. But what if that link would not have been to the famous video?
The copied letter had Facebook logo and backround, and it even had the disclaimer of please click to unsubscribe, so it could have very easily fooled me, if I didn't know that sites do not message and ask to log on. And of course, when you hover over the link, the status bar tells you where the link leads, and it led to http://rssemily.cz/cache/www.facebook.com/login.php (don't go to this address).
And similaly to my ingenious rickroll, there has been a somewhat of a new trend to trick people like this. The example of this Facebook password fishing I copied was of very high quality, I mean, as far as fishing goes. But I have also recieved letters like (abuse of grammar intended):
See? Seemingly it leads to a trustworthy site, but it really leads to my Facebook profile. So, beware of scams like this.

Egg rolls
I think with every game, there are rumours. With Castle Age as well. The summoner must have the last hit, speedkills make better loot, specific items to Kobo will give you Celesta's Devotion... At least one of the rumours says you need to give Kobo eggs. This log kind of proves that this is not necessarily always the case. Incidentally, it also proves the general Kobo might not only allow 8 items instead of 10, but also will limit the rolls to 8 instead of 10.
You see, never can be bureaucratic enough.
1) Quick kill, better loot was true until hydras. It may still be true with Dragons.
2) There are gold medals for speed kills, you get skill pints for gold medal. However, they are attainable only the first time you kill a monster in <24h. If you improve your time, but already have a gold, they are not avarded.

You have exceeded the 10 emporium roll limit for the day. Come back tomorrow for another chance!

On guild battles
Guides to guild battles that start out saying what you can do are nice, but they may lead to a newbie coming to guild battle and ruining everything, because they have not been told what not to do. So, this is a guide concentrating on what not to do.
What not to do in guild battles
Avoid hitting clerics you have doubts about winning, especially the inactive ones. Mages are to avoided, too, the same principle applies, except losing to a cleric is worse.
If you are not unusually strong on attack, your safe target is about 100 levels below you. If you lose to cleric. they will heal all opponent players in their gate with 10 health. If you lose to a mage, he inflicts 10 damage to all members in you guild who are in the same gate as you.
If a player has 2,000+ heath, it maybe more useful to hit those who have less than 2,000, especially in one hour festival battles, because you will waste all tokens on one target, and it may not be wise. Trying to take down an opponent with 6,000 health is generally a waste of tokens, especially when you are stunned and hit with ~33% of your damage.
Useful tips, and how can they turn bad
You always win against a polymorphed target. If you have a strong mage to polymorph for you, and if the target can be polymorphed, you can win them, no matter how tiny your strength. When an opponent is polymorphed, they have an icon next to their name, and when you slide your mouse over it, it says polymorph. However, if a mage and a rogue have announced teamwork on a target, intervening can be hazardous.
It is also not recommended to hit a morphed target when you are stunned. Generally mages morph targets nobody can win against otherwise. If you are stunned and hit with your decreased damage, a mage has to use up another token to morph the target, resulting the mage using 2 or 3 tokens where they could just have used 1.
You do 45 points more damage to a poisoned target, but as above, it is not recommended to hit a poisoned target when stunned. And unlike against a morphed target, you can lose to a poisoned target.
If your objective is to farm coins, and you encounter a small guild, or if victory is ensured, clerics and mages do not have to attack to get points. Clerics can heal, and mages can polymorph, both can be done multiple times on the same target. Also, you may want to keep some enemy clerics alive, and smaller levels to suicide against them, so they'd generate more hittable players.
Opponents that you may want to avoid
These abilities are unfortunately undetectable until someone attacks the opponent, and it could be helpful to inform your guild when you see those.
A rogue with evade. This ability gives owner a chance to evade damage. If you attack someone and you win, but they evade, it is actually a loss, considering your got nothing for wasting a token. Battle points, yes, but not what you went for.
A rogue with Deshara. Upon victory, a rogue does more damage than other classes anyway, but a rogue with Deshara does extra 40 damage.
A mage with Zurran. Upon victory, a mage inflicts 10 damage to all players in your gate, but a mage with Zurran inflicts 18 damage.
A cleric with Sanna. Upon victory, a cleric heals 10 health to all players in her gate, but a cleric with Sanna heals 14 health.
Any class with Daphne. Upon defensive victory, Daphne deflects 20 of opponent's damage back to opponent
On being stunned
For experimenting, warriors are the safest targets, because losing to a rogue takes more health from you. But when you are stunned, suiciding rogues can be preferred, because you can't lose any more health.
When you are stunned, you can be useful to your guild in making suicide attacks to the highest rogues or warriors you can find, assuming it's sensible to attack them.
Normal guild battle considers you stunned when you have 0 heath, festival guild battle considers at 200 health. For both types of battle, members are subtracted from guild health bar, if they have health below 200.
Opponents can use their powers whet they have health above 0. For that reason, inactive members should be hit below 200, but actives should be taken completely down.

On divine items
Don't take it blindly as truth, but I surmise that divine items only have effect when you equip them in battle, meaning if you have divine demi items, but have stronger items in said category, you won't use divine items.
If my theory is correct, Force of Nature is ineffective when you have Transcendence. According to castleage.wikia.com, on attack, Transcendence is stronger than Force of Nature. You may not have Transcendence, but I do, so Force of Nature will not be useful to me, but if I get Heart of the Woods, it will be also my strongest weapon, so I'll use it. The same goes for Aegis of the Kings.
I am so glad that on a hunch, I started to pursue Heart of the Woods. Imagine my disappointment when I finally combine Force of Nature, and find out the game does not let me use it. You get penalty for good items, as Alessia worded it.
I have the four divine demi items, but I have no use for them, except in invades. I do not regret having stronger weapons, but I hope I won't get anything stronger that Heart of the Woods. Unless it is a divine weapon.

On lost gifts
First, the best way to get gifts is from Facebook gift page, so always accept from there first.
However, when that list is empty, but Castle Age main page or army page shows you have gifts, go to army page, if not there already. In there, you see these gifts, but instead of clicking accept all or accept, right click on ignore, copy the link, paste the link in address bar, but do not hit enter! Replace ignore with acpt (in the link) then hit enter. That way you will accept the gift.
Oh, and when you want to send a gift to a certain friend but their name won't appear on the all friends list, you or you friend have unreceived gifts from each other. In that case, you also have to do this.

This is how the right-click menu looks like on Firefox. It says copy link address in Google Chrome and Opera, and copy shortcut in Internet Explorer.
The link you then paste to the addree bar looks like this:
http://apps.facebook.com/castle_age/army.php?act=ignore&uid=1098450478
When you have pasted it, do not hit enter! You have to change it to:

Some might say
Pringles: You don't have Exsanguinator?
Pringles: If you want Exsanguinator, it's very easy to get considering its strength. In guild monsters, the only sensible class to be is rogue.
Estrella: I'm being whatever Lay's says.
Pringles: Usually 20,000 damage to Baby Vincent will get you two epics, and it is the maximum you can get.
Estrella: We're not doing Vincents, Cheetos says the loot's naff in return for what you have to invest.
Pringles: Lay's can command you in guild battles, but in guild monsters, it is only sensible to be a rogue. Our guild does not have Cheetos, and we do Vincents regularly. Exsanguinator is shitloads easier to get than Hellblade, Stormcrusher or Staff of Jahanna. I just don't understand your guild.
Estrella: Leave my guild alone!! ;) LOL
Pringles: Yes, I spent 250 stamina making 58,500 damage to Baby Vincent, but it gives me more than good chance to get 2 epics, whilst to get a fair chance to get 2 epics from all recent monsters, you have to spend at least 1,000 stamina.
Estrella: I thought they were based on damage (except the dragons and other sta monsters).
Pringles: They are based on damage. But you still need stamina to do damage, not pigeon poop.
Estrella: Or attack.
Pringles: Or attack, yes, but still stamina too. And attack only decides if you win or lose, but not how much damage you make.
Estrella: Good, I wasn't planning on pooping on Vincent.
Some time later
Pringles: I have 11 Exsanguinators. If I get some tonight, I will tell you that. Also, I ask your permission to put that conversation to my blog, names changed, and irrelevant talk cut out.
Estrella: Don't forget to write that the girl you were talking to was incredibly beautiful, intelligent and articulate... Did I forget talented, knowledgeable and modest too?
I didn't get the Exsaguinator, but I got the Swarm of Darkness, which I also have 11 of
On duels, it's of course better to have Heart of the Woods and Divine Blast, but on invades and wars, Vincent loot is always handy. Plus the Swarm of Darkness is the best obtainable spell in the game, if you haven't been or done good in arenas and are not able to achieve 30 to 50 million in Convirtheus repeatedly.

On the Tower of Transcendence
The ultimate goal in Tower of Transcendence is to unlock Agamemnon, who can not be summoned under monsters tab. From Agamemnon you can get pieces to combine Aegis of the Kings, the best shield in the game. Also, you can get a weapon and a helmet, which are stronger than the Exsanguinator and the Helm of Dragon Power, and a glove slightly weaker than Gauntlet of Fire.
If you don't have divine items, like Force of Nature (get ingredient from Jahanna), please don't fight Agamemnon, because Agamemnon has divine armor, it will prevent 1/3 damage. Only items with divine power can remove the armor power.
If you have joined another player's Agamemnon and have defeated it, the summon button on the boss floor of your own tower will appear. However, the game will not allow you to summon Agamemnon if you have not unlocked his floor yet. So don't believe the rumours.
Clicking the summon button on any other floor will summon one of the four monsters in that rank. You cannot choose which one. That means you can get unlucky and summon the dame monster over and over again. Festival monsters have a cooldown period in which you cannot summon another.
Festival monsters do not show up on your keep. They are found in festival monster list. You can get the link by right-clicking on engage and copying the link location. Getting the link from the battle by clicking call to arms button and copying the link (in blue) will result in helping link, regardless of you not publishing. The &action=doObjective in the link makes the link to help launch weapons.
It may be wise to not CTA too soon. You can request no CTAs until a given time, you can set damage limit. If the monster is not critical, please let everyone to do the required amount to get the points. The requirements are posted here (some data may be missing).
Points at a given rank count only within the rank. For example, if the highest you have unlocked is silver rank, fighting bronze rank monsters will earn you points in bronze rank, fighting gold rank monsters will earn you points in gold rank - when you unlock gold, the points are waiting.
Festival may not be necessarily worth it. If you really think about it, Aegis of the Kings' total attack is only 7 points higher that of the Sword of Redemption and total defence is 10 points higher, whereas our total attack is 100% attack skill + 70% defence skill + 100% general's attack + 70% general's defence + 100% weapons' attack + 70% weapons' defence; the same in reverse for defence. If, for example, your total attack is 1,750; will 7 points really change that much?
Then again, it is fun, and an achievement within the game. Besides, if you hunt monsters anyway, no real difference between festival and regular monsters, since loot is the same.

To create a CA account
When one does start a monster hunter account, one can add attack and defence, just note my recommendation - first goal: 300 stamina and defence, second goal: 600 stamina and defence. Or in any case, equal.
Why those numbers? If one has 288 of both resources, it takes 24 hours to grow back. If one has 576, it takes 48 hours, so one can be away for two days and not waste anything. And round numbers are just cooler. If one's monster hunter account is not specific to defence or attack, equal amounts rule. If one has 100 stamina and 400 energy, one's stamina refills in 8 hours 20 minutes, but one's energy is only 25% refilled, and it looks horrible. And if one is away 33 hours 20 minutes, one's energy has refilled, but one has wasted stamina.
And one can be given a link which gives one 20 FPs as a welcome gift. One has 20 FPs at the start, and another 20 makes one have 40 FPs. However, it is recommended to start thinking about refills when one has 200+ resources, otherwise it feels like a waste. I mean refill 48 stamina - can't one just wait 4 hours? One sleeps longer than that, so it's like paying for stuff one would get free during the night. Yes, it is true that any amount of stamina is free if one is patient enough, but monsters do not flee in four to ten hours, but they do in four to ten days.
With 40 FPs at the start, one is wiser to buy a monthly of one's choice. I consider the following useful:
Scarlett: 6% income boost (Mercedes has 5%, but the larger the income, the valuable the 1%)
Solara: transfers 20% max energy to max stamina on skillpoint value (2 energy for 1 stamina)
Godric: +20 max energy
Barbarus: threefold hits (both attacks and defendings use 3x the resource, and hit 3x as hard)
Maalvus: Same power as Barbarus, but with +3% critical
Deshara: +40 additional damage as rogue upon guild victory
Critical boosting generals are junk. All general have base critical of 10%, and generals with player attack bonus seem to increase that.

Facebook is more important than gravity
A new study in the UK has just revealed that six out of every ten British youths ranks the invention of Facebook more important than the apple-induced revelation by Sir Isaac Newton in the 17th century.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg beat loads of other world changers like Martin Luther King Jr. and Albert Einstein in the poll which surveyed 1,000 Brits under the age of 25. The only person to top the young billionaire was fellow tech tycoon Bill Gates whose 11.4% of the vote edged out Zuck’s 9.1%.

Inconviniences in Facebook
Facebook has a habit to put "#!" at the end of URLs, so facebook.com/contentyouneed ends up being facebook.com/blahblahblah#!/contentyouneed. More often than never, it actually prevents you from seeing the content you need, and often manually deleting "blahblahblah#!" helps. Sadly, not always, so you end up knowing someone commented your post, you keep clicking that notification, even go to your profile, still you can't see it.
And if you do not like the new theatre viewing of photos, you need to delete "&theatre". It is annoying when all of a sudden you have a big black square in your screen, at least for me. And if the attempt was to create some sort of fullscreen mode, sorry, it goes only as wide as Facebook main frame goes. Is it like 800 pixels? My screen has 1920 in width, so it looks ugly. Theatre mode should go as wide as user's resolution, and it should be optional, not mandatory.
To illustrate both cases, here's an URL:
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_203531063007095&id=204718789554989¬if_t=like#!/photo.php?fbid=1251688946308&set=a.1251685266216.31247.1652061947&theater
See? And that "set=blahblahblah" is not really needed either, so the above URL can be shortened to this:
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1251688946308

A click to remember
Once upon a time in the 21st century there lived a gorgeous girl. She may, or may not have been under age, that is not important. But on one evening she made an account to Facebook.
She made some new friends, as well as discovered her old schoolmates. Because she was self concious about her beauty, and wanted to share her looks with her friends, who she knew were polite, well behaved, and would not ever comment her pictures with any vulgarity, she posted some mildly revealing pictures of herself. Nothing embarrassing, nothing naughty. Her parents knew about the pictures, they approved.
The girl had just moved to a new town, and wanted to let her friends know. She put her street address on her profile, and some weeks later happened to post a status saying she's sad because she's home alone for two days. In the evening, someone rang the doorbell. The girl ran to answer, hoping that her friends have come to visit her. Shockingly, it was a middle-aged man.
Before the girl could gather herself, the man put a garbage bag over her head, and taped her hands together. Everything was suddenly so dark and scary. The girl was put to the trunk of a car, and they drove what seemed like an eternity. The girl felt so incredibly guilty, as she went through all she could have done to call this horror upon herself. She had been so careful, so neat. She had never stayed out after hours, and she had never even seen a nightclub, or a bar.
When the car stopped, the man came and opened the trunk. The garbage bag was removed, but it did not get much brighter. It was midnight, they were in the woods. The girl took a deep breath, and was going to scream at the top of her lungs. But that didn't happen, because the man taped her mouth, and all the girl could do were muffled sounds, like when you scream into a pillow. The man began tearing her clothes, and revealed a little himself.
The morning came bright and shiny, but not for the girl. Even the headlights of the police cars and ambulance seemed dimmed as a candle behind veil. The girl was given warm clothes, and helped into an ambulance. All the way to the hospital her mum held her hand and talked to he daughter in soothing tones, hoping to get her daughter to make some contact with this world.
Suddenly, the girls eyes opened up wide, and she whispered: "Privacy settings..."

How to lose a friend
Now, this all happened on Facebook. A stupid status (posted to annoy me), and subsequent comments.
Julie Stronghold:
I'M A BITCH !!! Unfortunately most women won't repost this. I'm a handful, I'm strong willed, independent, a bit outspoken and I tell it like it is. I make
mistakes, I am sometimes out of control & at times hard to handle. But if u can't handle me at my worst then u sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.
Repost if you are a BITCH!!!
Big bad wolf: Erm... What did we just talk about?
Julie Stronghold: just to annoy you ;-p
Ferris Bueller: good to know
Big bad wolf: Don't annoy me then.
Helen Kungfu: I reposted! I have no problem saying I am a 100% BITCH!
Julie Stronghold: But I'm a bitch, I luv to annoy ppl
Big bad wolf: Why, why... Marilyn pukes in her grave.
Julie Stronghold: Sure she would of luved me if she knew me.... So don't worry about it... And dead ppl can't puke (O_o)
Big bad wolf: It's a figure of speech, they can not spin either.
Julie Stronghold: really??? you're a smart guy, huh ;o) LMFAOOOOOOO
Lydia Gateway-Tohell: ?:) TY
Big bad wolf: I still don't like abusing quotes. Taking them out of context.
Julie Stronghold: ?"Dogs never bite me. Just humans." So bite me... I'll post on MY wall whatever I want!
Big bad wolf: But it is illogical.
Susan Teaparty: Back away slowly, Peeter. I think it could get dangerous around here. Hahaha!
Kori Sevkõht: Again... AWESOME!
Julie Stronghold: ?"If I'd observed all the rules, I'd never have got anywhere". I don't care about rules.... especially made up rules....
Big bad wolf: I don't know where it came from, but all rules are made up, except rules of nature. Ignoring rules results in anarchy, and anarchy does not work. So ignoring rules is illogical, and only an excuse.
Julie Stronghold: So just cuz someone/ somewhere said I can't use Marilyn Monroe quotes... Where is the logic in that??? Is there a death penalty on using her quotes?
Nancy Reavahe: Dont sound like a bitch SOUNDS LIKE A STRONG WILLED WOMAN TO ME
Julie Stronghold: OMFG, Are you for real??? Do you have some sick crush on a dead girl or something.....
Big bad wolf: What? I just respect Marilyn Monroe. I think it's demeaning to use her quotes to justify being whiny. I think she did not mean it that way at all.
Julie Stronghold: I'm not being whiny... I AM all the things said above and proud of it.... So the quote suits me right and I will use it with honor and pride :))
Big bad wolf: Okay, but what I don't like about it is stupid whiny teenagers associating the word bitch with it. I believe Marilyn meant it actually as she's just a human, because everybody makes mistakes, and a person does not deserve another person's good side, if the former person does not accept the latter's bad side. I believe in this context I'm also a "bitch". And, I did not say anything about you being whiny. Nor stupid teenager. It's just that this quote is so widely used in the wrong context, it sickens me.
Julie Stronghold: I totally agree... You're a bitch :o)) And a whiny one too .... But you're right about some of the stuff you're saying.... So I'm gonna let you be a bitch :o)) good night... I'm out like a light
11 hours ago
Jesus Houseghost: I´ve just read the main topic... And I think you´re wrong.. You´re not a bitch... You should say You´re THE BITCH... most women should take you as example... at least they´d be funnier :P
Chuck Noristüli: Did this post originally say at the end ''post this 5 times or you'll be dead by midnight''? poor marilyn
about an hour ago
Julie Stronghold: HEY... Don't get my started again, huh (O_O)
Big bad wolf: I am just glad someone seemingly agrees with me.
Julie Stronghold: boohoohoo.... Cry me a river, guys....
Big bad wolf: What are you doing? You honestly believe demeaning people by take their statements in an wrong context is something to take pride in? (Chuck liked my post)
Julie Stronghold: I'm just saying I can relate to Marilyn... I AM a hand full.. I AM strong willed... I AM independent And outspoken and I TELL it like it is.... I sure as hell made mistakes... And most of the time I'm hard to handle.... I'm NOT taking this statement in a wrong context.... All these things apply to me.... So why can't I use her quote?
Big bad wolf: Did she or did she not say in her quote that she is a bitch? (Chuck liked my post)
Julie Stronghold: strong willed = bitchy.... And I'm just sayin I AM A BITCH.... Didn't say she was one
Big bad wolf: Seems you don't understand the point at all. No one's doubting you are strong willed and all that... But you're still using her quote in the wrong context.
What if I'm really pissed on and vented my anger on you. You'll sarcastically say: "Yeah, dump all your load on me". And someone would start spreading rumours of you loving sperm all over your body. Would you be proud?
And strong willed is knowing what you want and not giving up on that. Bitchy is being whiny and uncooperative for nor actual reason.
Julie Stronghold: The chick is dead.... It's not like she's going to care anymore
Sylvia Longshort: Hey dude.......why are you complaining about she being a bitch? I love that she's like that and if she used some quote from some dead lady let her be ;-)))))))))))
Big bad wolf: She did not say she is a bitch, and that is the whole point. Being a bitch and taking the word as a compliment came in fashion maybe in the 90s. She did not meat it like that.
No one's doubting what Julie's character is or is not, she is just using somebody's quote in a demeaning manner.
Sylvia Longshort: It's not like she aware of that....geeeeeeeeeez.......Did you know the lady irl or what???? Get over yourself....AND FAST!!!!!!
Sylvia Longshort: and Biatch......don't get involved with marilyn lovers......those are strange ppl......whaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha
Big bad wolf: Oh, how much do you know about thinking, are you doing it at all? So you think if a person is dead, she can be abused?
Sylvia Longshort: who's abusing who here???? maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.......do you want me to send a naked pic of her??? roflrofl
Big bad wolf: Your smileys and your "humour" does not please me. I'm not defending Marilyn because I am a fan, I mean I'm not, I'm defending her because you're using her quote in a wrong context.
Julie Stronghold: Yeah, note to self... leave bitches with a sick crush on dead ladies alone in their own lil world :o))
Sylvia Longshort: who cares that you don't like my humour.....I don't live to please your ass......again....GET OVER YOURSELF!!!!
Big bad wolf: Alright, no need to cross over to immature insults.
Julie Stronghold: Gonna shove that wrong context up your fucking ass if you don't give this a rest.... Getting sick of this convo... It's pointless and boring
Big bad wolf: I agree, partly because it seems hopeless to make you see what exactly is that you are doing wrong.
Sylvia Longshort: yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn......
Sylvia Longshort: and stalking her status isn't wrong then???? hmmmmmmmmmm
Julie Stronghold: THIS IS MY WALL..... I frucking post whatever I like on here.... And if you don't like it... -----> that way to the exit!
Sylvia Longshort: ?------->maybe you find Marilyn there 2....whaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaha
Julie Stronghold: She's just outside the door... Go have a look
Sylvia Longshort: Happy b_day mr president.....whaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha
Julie Stronghold: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4SLSlSmW74
Sylvia Longshort: WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Big bad wolf: So you think if I post about George Washington (who is dead) being a stupid ass worthless human scum, there won't be any negative comments towards me? Or if I, having American friends, post my opinion that 9/11 was fake, and done by US government, there won't be stupid, but nevertheless angry Americans commenting?
Sylvia Longshort: I don't know the dude and everybody has his own oppinion about 9/11.....It's your choice if you post something of that or not....
Sylvia Longshort: and I know the dude....Just not irl....
Julie Stronghold: Ever heard about right of free speech.... gfgi, smartass
Big bad wolf: What dude did you mean?
Sylvia Longshort: george washinton.....is he going to haunt us if we talk badly of him??? should I arrange an priest????
Big bad wolf: Well, yes, freedom on speech does mean freedom to publicly show your stupidity.
Julie Stronghold: excuse you??? Who are you calling stupid here????
Sylvia Longshort: who are you calling stupid dumb ass????? You're talking to my best biatch huh......and all that cuz of some dead lady.....you really need a life......douchebag
Big bad wolf: Well, what can I do anymore? You're clearly not going to understand your wrong here.
Julie Stronghold: CUZ I'M NOT WRONG!!!!!
Sylvia Longshort: I understand that you don't have anything better to do than giving her a hard time about something that doesn't even really matter......Don't you know anyone irl to defend?
Big bad wolf: You are too. You are using a quote in a way that it was clearly not what was meant. Did you not read my example earlier about you and the sperm?
Julie Stronghold: Arguing with a fool...proves there are two!! therefore this arguement is over and i'll leave u to be the fool.....topic closed!!!! you're bugging me...
Sylvia Longshort: euhm......and not only you.....geeeez.....choose your ca friends more carefully!!!!
Big bad wolf: You said there were two fools. Just to note, I am only one, that must mean...
Sylvia Longshort: that you count for 2.....now leave.....
Julie Stronghold: yeah, I'm a fool for accepting ur friend request..... But gonna fix that real quick
Big bad wolf: Defriending me won't change the fact that using MM's quote out of context is moronic. Even the fact that my irl best friend will say "I got owned by you" won't change it. He sometimes fails hard at life, too.
Outsider comment after reading this:
Good heavens. You might be better without her as a friend. At least for conversations.
Julie Stronghold:

Maio binion
Some friends of mine did a battle in Caste Age. They did a CTA with a rule - only for level 250 below. Now, a level 673 High King jumped in and did 40 million plus damage, my sweet girls got nothing. Now, what this high king did was clearly unjust to them, and was ignoring the rules.
However, and this is the part why the sisters* hate me, this rule of theirs was not the most effective... "in my opinion". Level numbers are overrated. For example, let's say two players never quest. They are level 200, meaning 1000 skill points. One puts 400 on attack, and 400 on stamina. The other spreads points equally, putting 200 on attack and stamina. P1 has now 400 attack, and 200 stamina, P2 has 200 attack, and 100 stamina. Theoretically, P1 does twice as much damage as P2. So, I think setting a level limit is less effective than to put damage limit.
In short, level number is not necessarily relevant. And I feel very strongly about this, as I have 500 defence, which means I have enormously small attack compared to others at level 360. Okay, facts. My attack is 263; my friend's attack is 400+, and he is level 241.
The rule of "250 and below" can be heavily abused. In extreme example, if someone really wants, that someone can make an account, never play except to pray, and boom!, in three years - level 1 player with 200 stamina and 750 attack.
And now, especially to those who constantly bash me for having this useless, worthless, utter scum, otherwise known as defence. Firstly, my comment on the topic:
And also, the proof (but I'm sure disbelievers will not start believing), in a form of message log:
Peeter:
I'm not bragging. Please tell me how much energy you used and what is your defence?
Jolla:
My defence is just a couple points shy of 200 right now. The first one was for 20 energy and the 2nd was for 10.
Peeter:
Thank you. My first was for 40 and the second was 20, and it seems it was not fully used. I have read rumours that there is a threshold where your defending ability gets better. Whether it's true or not, I wanted proof that high defence matters. I have 503 defence, and for the same amount of energy, I did deflect much more.
Thank you, you were helpful. And Gehenna is deflected.
Jolla:
Yes, the rumours are true. There are 3 thresholds that I know of. The first is at 200, once you reach it your defending ability will basically double on serpent battles. The next is at 400, I believe, and gives severe boost for the smaller world battles like Dark Legions. I don't know where the 3rd is but it is for everything else. Sadly there aren't any for attack (mine's just over 1200). I'm heavily built for PvP so I tend not to defend for much in monster battles, defence and energy are my 2 lowest stats (not counting health). The only monsters I do well on are hydras.
Peeter:
What's your source?
Jolla:
[A name] is the only one I can remember off the top of my head but I have heard it from many people. Most of which are well above your and my level.

And to answer the second question... People with brains do need defence when attacking. At least in monsters with party health, defence, or shield. You do know that your attacks have a bigger amount of points when your attack is bigger? Well, no reason to think defence points are related to the amount of pigeon poop on the roof... Sorry, I have no proof, but rumour has it, there's a secret threshold, where your defence amount gets considerably better. Azriel's is supposedly 300.
You could say, with tears of ever so sweet love in your eyes, that you, the "attacker", have me, the "defender", but the truth is, you can't do anything without defence.
When you go to a snowball fight, it is most probably cold outside. You need to have a good throwing arm, but you also need to defend your body against cold. Normal people have clothes for defence against cold. But if you're going outside with your arms stretched out, and say to me: "I chose to have no clothes, cover my naked body with yours"... How gay are you?
And also, the proof (but I'm sure disbelievers will not start believing), in a form of message log:
Peeter:
1 second ago:
Peeter cast deflection on the party for a considerable amount of [50,968] points points!
13 seconds ago:
Peeter cast deflection on the party for a massive amount of [121,555] points!
6 minutes, 28 seconds ago:
Jolla cast deflection on the party for a minimal amount of [9,119] points!
6 minutes, 40 seconds ago:
Jolla cast deflection on the party for an adequate amount of [18,358] points!
I'm not bragging. Please tell me how much energy you used and what is your defence?
Jolla:

The White Death
I assume every Castle Age player knows The White Death. And for the last 48 hours Castle Age has done goofed. The White Death, The Whirling Death, and the maintenance notice, which may very well be 404 CA style.
Think about it, not so hard to comprehend. It may not be that they put that note there when they truly update, it might be just their default error message. Why else would this note appear randomly, and let you play in between?
Some of us didn't get to log on once, like Dawn, who even apologised to me personally, how cute. Me, I got in, but maybe 40% of times. But I was compensated, read below.
Yesterday, my stamina was full. I attacked, until I had 60 stamina left. Suddenly, I had some 270 stamina. I hope the hits I made both times counted, in which case I got a free refill.
But that's not all. I prayed for Azeron, and when I clicked, The Whirling Death came on. I remembered my accidental free refill, so I kept clicking... And by the way, once I got 12/10 demipoints from PvP battles...
Anyway, I just noticed this now... I had 340 max stamina before praying. And now... I have 356!
356 max stamina, this is permanent.
However, I'd still like more compensation. Many of us have battles, and it pisses us off when they fail by no fault of our own.

Ruubiku kuubik
I think Castle Age fucked up. In the past, you could tell by the nice weapons who has been in a lot of monster battles, because the best weapons were hard to get. But now they made Vincent, who is too easy to get epic loot from, and he drops the strongest ordinary equipment. And so everybody who's in a numerous guild has the best equipment in the game.
In the past, to get the best ordinary sword in the game, that is, not counting Soulforge, Devotion, and Meat Carver, you had to get serious activity on many Alpha Mephistopheles', because Hellblade's drop chance was only around 10%, but now they made a weapon that is stronger than Hellblade, and far too easy to get.
Alpha Mephistopheles was introduced on July 15th, and I have no Hellblade. Vincent was introduced October 28th, and I have 3 Exsanguinators already.

Happy birthday!
Once upon a time there was a battle in Castle Age. A friend asked me to help with 168-hour monster which had only four players. Now, it had 100 hours left, but I deemed it hopeless. I will explain the reason later. Since she was my good friend, and explained the situation with more words than just plz hlp, I did a CTA. I choose not to join at first, but when I saw hope, I joined. The thing is, in that CTA I wrote something along the lines of it seems pretty hopeless, but maybe we can do it.
It seems that the girl was still mad at me for deeming it hopeless. She threw that in my face. And of course, as always, people unload their bad feelings about me, and then come up with excuses not to hear my explanations. Her's was that it was her weekend, and she wanted not to spoil it with further discussions. Well, why the fuck not? Did she ever think that it might have hurt my feelings when she accused me of cocky ignorance when I knew it wasn't that?
A little explanation I managed to do, was, and I quote: I operate on logic, and if I see a battle with mathematical tendency to fail, I say my opinion. You seem to miss the point - I did not post to show that it was pointless and you fail as a human, I posted because you asked me to help, and since you were in my army, I wanted to see if I could. She was not satisfied with that. And I did not have the chance to explain my logic.
It’s very simple. The basis of Castle Age is mathematics. 168, which is the given time for big monsters, divided by 2, is 84. That means 50% of 168 is 84. That leads to the deduction that if the monster has 84 hours left, or 50% time, and the fighters have not done 50% damage by far, meaning they have done about 30% or less, it is certain that if the current damage rate continues, the monster would not be defeated. In numbers, at 0% time there would be 60% damage (in case of 30% damage by 50% time). Everything in between is mere change of numbers, like when the monster has 30% of time, it is needed for 70% damage to be done. Since siege weapons still do damage, not carrots, they are included by default.
I admit it is possible that when a 168-hour monster has 3 hours left, and only 35% damage has been made, but it has 3 high tier spots left, three slayers with 2,000 attack and some favour points join, and finish the monster. It is called luck. I have seen the mentioned situation with my own eyes. But I think that while hoping for some luck is reasonable, counting on a shitload of luck is straight out moronic. And that is why I do not join monsters I deem hopeless.
Concerning that Ragnarok – it had 4 players, and if no one, or a few, had joined, it would have failed. I felt it was my duty to warn people that it may fail.
And, believe or not, there are people to whom that whole post did not give any new information... Since they had figured it all out themselves.

Having no life vs. resposibility
Peeter: Hey, dude. You're a mage. You failed to deflect. Twice.
Justos Humanos: =(=(
Peeter: That's it. I'm not joining any of your battles. And you know... I consider kicking you out of MWA. I don't think you know how to play.
Justos Humanos: lol. eu fico rindo de comedias como voce que a vida eh so jogo. nego sem vida social. aprende a jogar e para de gastar dinheiro com jogo. sai do armario.
Peeter: I don't speak Spanish, but if you think drinking with friends in more important that your own battle... Learn some responsibility, you are the summoner of this mess.
Justos Humanos: spanish? uhauhauhauhuhauha. portuguese -.-"
Peeter: well, do not speak that either.
Justos Humanos: reponsabilidade lol aprende deixe de ser criança. (Google: responsibly lol learn to stop being a kid)
Peeter: You are now kicked out of MWA.
Justos Humanos: fodas usa um tradutor. lol MWA = bosta. nunca me serviu para nada. (Google: MWA = crap, I never had no effect)
Peeter: Yes, yes, you are supercool.
Justos Humanos: que nada. so nao sou um nerd que vive no pc como voce. (Google: nothing. so I'm not a nerd who lives in the pc like you.)
Peeter: You summoned a monster. You are the most responsible. Go and drink with you friends, but do not summon monsters.
What I said was, and I checked, it was close enough to what I meant:
call me a nerd, but sorry, you failed. convene the meeting under its responsibility. not about being a nerd, it's about taking responsibility for their actions.
Never said machines translate perfectly, but he said nothing to this. Maybe he thought he could get away with calling me mild names, and was stunned by the invention of Google.
Also, I forgot to mention that he attacked when party health was way down. The others were healing their asses of, and not attacking, but he just didn't care.
